The moment I saw you
I felt the word
LOVE.
LOVE,
A word that consists only 4 letters
But filled with endless emotions.
Happiness, anger, anxiety and most importantly
LOVE that has no boundaries.
I ask myself why I fell in love with you
Is it because of your eyes, your wealth, or your skin tone?
Surprisingly neither one.
I see you in my future.
I see you in me.
I see me in you.
This is where I believe the phrase
LOVE is blind
To be true.
Fragrance in my life
Heartbeat of mine
Is all you.
You are my mom, my dad, my friend
And my soulmate.
You are everything to me.
I lost myself in you.
Searching for the LOVE you have on me.
In a hope that I will find it now.
Happy Valentine's Day
- by Thureshnia
P. S. This was the first poem written by me, and it takes place when a girl wants to propose to her boyfriend on Valentine's Day. I was in Form 3 (15 years old) back then when my English teacher asked us to write a poem for Valentine's Day. Being unfamiliar with poems and, most importantly, being a single makes it a little hard for me to pull it off. Imagine having to feel for the love of your life, who didn't even exist yet, and that's insane, right? Whatever it is, I just need to do something. Thanks to some amazing music directors out there who helped me to write one by composing heavenly love songs. A person who never knew what love meant would also want to fall in love by listening to it. The lyrics are so soulful and deep, of course (I prefer deep lyrics than direct ones). I listen to love songs to immerse myself in the feeling of love. Honestly, it was quite nice though to feel a little bit of love and write a poem for your future love in your busy schedule, despite the fact that the poem wasn't too WOWwy. My poem was simple and direct, but I really like the last few lines because they are rhyming:
I lost myself in you,
Searching for the love you have on me,
In a hope that I find it now, Happy Valentine's Day.
