How my hatred towards Malaysia turns into a real love

How are you my buddies? I just hope you are on cloud nine, but if you are not, don't worry, an ice cream will solve everything (if possible, have a vegan one). Since this is a special month for all Malaysians, I decided to tell my story of how my hatred towards Malaysia turned into a real love for Malaysia now, and that includes people, food, traditions, places, nature, etc. Hey, don't mistake me. I said I love Malaysia but not the government unfortunately. In fact, most Malaysians have some hatred, at least in a smaller percentage, not because of anything but the government. The mishandling of Malaysia's government pushes us, especially the young ones, to a point where they lose hope in our country and dream high of flying away to overseas as fast as possible to make achievements in their lives.

If can, right at this moment, at this second. Not only because of the government but also some systems that exist here, especially the education one. We really need some upgrades from all the aspects to make sure Malaysia won't become an empty land. However, I believe today's youngsters won't leave the country behind and run overseas, but if that's the case, don't forget to come back here to invest the knowledge and experience you got there in making Malaysia a better place. There is a great saying in Tamil which really opens my eyes. 'Don't ask what the country did for you, instead ask what you did for the country.' OoPs!!! I think I have gone too far from what I actually want to share with you today. So let me get my track back. Before going any further into how I love Malaysia, I would like to tell you how my hatred started in the first place. Honestly, this didn't start naturally in me, but when the irresponsible elderly around me mocking the government and some races in front of me.

Their words, thoughts, and actions definitely influence the way I think and act. Don't get shocked or surprised by my words, as this is what is mostly happening in every house. You might not be open to others about this, but I will as this should create an awareness among the elderly to be mindful of how you carry your words in front of your kids. You might think that it is OKAY to talk in front of kiddos as they know nothing, but SHHH guess what, they know EVERYTHING. Your words and actions will be registered in their minds at the point where the parents themselves can't change them once they grow up. Kids really have this super power to absorb lots and lots of information, but sadly, they don't have the eligibility to process it to know whether it is a RIGHT or WRONG thing to do. Parents must know more about this than me when your 3 year old child knows how to operate your smart phone BETTER than you do. Not only does that cause my hatred, but the HARSH REALITY too. When I was in my primary school, it was a norm to hear words like HINDU PARIA (humiliating Indians), BABI (humiliating Chinese) or LEMBU (humiliating Malays). But I'm sure they all learn from their parents too, because it is insane that a 9 or 10 year old kid can say these kinds of words when they were not taught in their textbook. So, from here you can see that the dissatisfaction towards the people actually turned into hatred of Malaysia. My love for Malaysia started when I entered secondary school. My classmates, seniors, and teachers from all kinds of races and religions were as sweet as maple syrup, which made my hatred or dissatisfaction towards any race vanish in the sky just like that. Of course, not all, but this proves to me that it is absolutely wrong to judge a race or a religion by the actions of a person. This might sound cliche, but trust me, it is hard to apply when it comes to real life. I felt so fresh, happy and proud that I'm a new person now. My favorite neighbor is a Malay, my best friends are Chinese and Indians, the politician I admire is a Malay, my favourite teacher is Chinese and many more. On top of that, more changes came on the way, I think when I started to use social media, as I can see people from every corner of the world and from all kinds of religions pouring their love on each other and defending each other when a problem comes.

I know what you must be thinking by now. Hey, yesterday I saw a video of people fighting for religion. Are you kidding thuresh? Yah, I see that too, but as I mentioned earlier, don't judge a race or religion by the actions of a person or perhaps a group of people. Okay, I think we have come to an end and I just hope you did not fall asleep by listening to my boring story. And I just want to remind you something. Without climate justice, you can't fulfill an independence day. Our ancestors fought for the land for the future, but what is the point of that if that land is going to be destroyed by the Malaysian government for profits? That has no value to a single coin. Have a nice day while thinking about it.
